Pumpkin Spice Bread Description

My 10-year-old son has asked me to send his favorite pumpkin spice bread recipe to you for your website. This pumpkin spice bread is absolutely the best fall treat ever!

My coworkers and family members beg me to make it year-round. I have even made it for baby showers and wedding receptions.

Pumpkin Trivia: In 1584 upon seeing it for the first time, a French explorer called them “gros melons. This translates into Latin as “pepon”, or a large melon. It wasn’t until the 17th century that American colonists first referred to them as pumpkins.

Pumpkin Spice Bread Ingredients

3 cupsflour
3 1/2 cupsugar
1 1/2 teaspoonsnutmeg
1 1/2 teaspoonscinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons   salt
2 teaspoonsbaking soda
1 cupcorn oil
2/3 cupswater
4eggs
1 can (single pie size)  pumpkin pie filling
1 1/2 cupswalnuts (optional)

 

Did You Know? Also, you can use squash or zucchini flowers in this recipe.

How to Make Pumpkin Spice Bread Directions

  1. Mix together: 3 cups flour, 3 1/2 cups sugar, 1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1 1/2 tsp. salt, 2 tsp. baking soda.
  2. Add: 1 cup corn oil, 2/3 cups water, 4 eggs, 1 can pumpkin (single pie size), and 1 1/2 cup walnuts (optional).
  3. Pour into 3 well-greased and floured pans.
  4. Bake for 1 hour at 350° F or until the knife comes out clean.
  5. These loaves freeze VERY well!
