Flesh Toned Qwiggle Alien Operation Jello Mold Recipe

Lost the recipe for your Jello Alien Operation Mold? No problem, here it is

Cleaning the Mold:

  1. Wash the entire inside cavity of the plastic Alien Operation mold using a soft sponge, dish soap, and warm water before each use.

  2. Use care to avoid puncturing a hole in the thin areas of the plastic mold while washing and drying it.

  3. Dry thoroughly before use.

Ingredients:

  1. Two large, 6 ounce boxes of peach or watermelon flavored gelatin. (Using any other flavored gelatin will not result in a flesh toned appearance.)

  2. One small, 3 ounce box of gelatin, any flavor, for the body organs.

  3. One 12 ounce can of lite evaporated skimmed milk (99.5% fat free). No other milk will work!

  4. Oil Cooking Spray (to lubricate the plastic mold)

  5. Two teaspoons of vegetable oil (to lubricate the plastic mold)

  6. Food Coloring- green, red, blue, and yellow.

  7. Boiled and cold water

Instructions for Alien Body:

  1. Spray a small amount of vegetable oil inside of the cavity of the  alien body mold, and on the outside of the organ insert mold. Wipe off any excess oil.

  2. Place the organ insert into the body, and clamp both pieces together.

  3. Place gelatin from the large boxes (only) into a large bowl.

  4. Add 1 cup of boiling water. Stir gelatin with a whisk until it is completely dissolved, about 3 minutes.

  5. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of cold water.

  6. Add  6 ounces skimmed milk, and stir for two minutes.

  7. Add a few drops of green food coloring to produce the flesh tone color, re-stir.

  8. Pour gelatin mixture into the plastic Alien Operation body. The organ insert is to remain empty.

  9. Fashion a towel inside of a rectangular cake pan. Set the mold inside and level. This will keep the mold level.

  10. Set the towel and mold in the refrigerator overnight.

Instructions for Organs:

  1. Put the small box of gelatin (any flavor) into a bowl.

  2. Add 1/2 cup of boiling water, stir for 1 minute.

  3. Add 1/2 cup cold water and stir.

  4. Add 1/4 cup of skimmed milk, re-stir.

  5. Take the hardened alien body out of the refrigerator.

  6. Slowly lift the organ insert out of the alien body. Set the insert mold aside.

  7. Pour the organ mixture directly into the organ impression in the hardened gelatin mold.

  8. Refrigerate until hardened, about two hours.

Extracting the hardened gelatin from the mold:

  1. Put on a cooking glove, and carefully loosen the gelatin away from the wall of the mold.

  2. Place the open palm of your hand on the top of the gelatin, and turn the mold over.

  3. Use a slight grabbing or pulling motion to pull the gelatin out of the mold. Pull it out feet first.

  4. Place mold onto a plate or a platter.

  5. Use a butter knife to trim away any excess gelatin.

  6. Cover the mold with a plastic food wrap and return the mold to the refrigerator until you are ready to put it on display and serve it.
