Flesh Toned Qwiggle Turkey Jello Mold Recipe

The Qwiggle turkey mold is widely popular for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons, Unfortunately, the manufacturer  "Qwiggle" went out of business. We are not aware of any other manufacturers of this product.

If you have lost the recipe for your Qwiggle Jello Turkey Mold, we have posted it below for you.

Cleaning the Mold:

  1. Wash the entire inside cavity of the plastic Turkey mold using a soft sponge, dish soap, and warm water before each use.

  2. Use care to avoid puncturing a hole in the thin areas of the plastic mold while washing and drying it.

  3. Dry thoroughly before use.

Ingredients:

  1. One large, 6 ounce box of peach or watermelon flavored gelatin. (Use any flavor, if a flesh tone is not desired)

  2. Six ounces of lite evaporated skimmed milk (99.5% fat free). No other milk will work!

  3. Oil Cooking Spray (to lubricate the plastic mold)

  4. Green food coloring

  5. One 1 cup boiling water, 1/2 cup cold water

Recipe Instructions:

  1. Spray a small amount of cooking oil inside of the cavity of the plastic mold.

  2. Place gelatin from the box into a large bowl.

  3. Add 1 cup of boiling water. Stir gelatin with a whisk until it is completely dissolved, about 3 minutes.

  4. Stir in cold water.

  5. Add skimmed milk and stir for one minute.

  6. Add a few drops of green food coloring to produce the flesh tone color, re-stir.

  7. Pour gelatin mixture into the plastic Turkey mold.

  8. Fashion a towel inside of a rectangular cake pan. Set the Turkey mold inside and level. This will keep the mold level.

  9. Place the mold in the refrigerator overnight.

Extracting the hardened gelatin from the mold:

  1. Put on a cooking glove, and carefully loosen the gelatin away from the wall of the mold.

  2. Place the open palm of your gloved hand on the top of the gelatin, and turn the mold over.

  3. Use a slight grabbing or pulling motion to pull the gelatin out of the mold.

  4. Place mold onto a plate or a platter.

  5. Use a butter knife to trim away any excess gelatin.

  6. Cover the mold with a plastic food wrap and return the mold to the refrigerator until you are ready to put it on display and serve it.
